  Goodbye, Ed Art Carney is dead at 85. For those who don't recall the re-runs they used to play (still play?) Art starred in the Honeymooners, opposite Jackie Gleason. The Honeymooners was one of the only TV shows my father watched regularly. He was a big fan, and so, by extension, I became a big fan early in childhood. I do think that Alice had the best lines, though and I can't believe that back in the 50's they gave the woman all the best material, but it made that show work. Ralph would say something stupid and Alice would come back with the perfect line. Ed Norton was a big, stupid Teddy Bear you just wanted to collect and take home with you. We're still laughing.
